Being prepared for potential emergency situations

/Accidents and emergencies can happen at any time, anywhere

In severe medical emergencies, every second counts. Learning the proper measures and steps to take in different situations - whether it's dealing with minor injuries like scrapes and fractures, or more serious conditions - is crucial to maximizing that precious golden hour of first aid.

/Training Oneself to Build Confidence

Learning to Handle Emergencies Through Training and Simulation. By undergoing training and practicing on specialized human models, each participant can become thoroughly familiar with the steps involved in providing first aid through hands-on exercises and scenario simulations.

/Certain degree of protection when carrying out activities

For example, when diving, the marine environment can be unpredictable and changeable at any moment. When both the diver and their dive partner are trained in how to properly respond to sudden emergencies, it can significantly help minimize the risks and potential for accidents during the diving operation.

The course combines an online learning system (eLearning®) and in-person instruction to maximize the learning effectiveness.

eLearning® System:
Through the online learning system, participants can learn and review the knowledge at their own pace and on their own schedule. They can preview videos covering various first aid skills and the steps to take in emergency situations beforehand.

In-Person Instruction:
Under the guidance of instructors, participants learn the basic skills for providing emergency assistance to others. Using specialized human models and training AED devices, they can practice the techniques and engage in scenario-based simulations, which helps them fully digest the knowledge and build confidence in performing first aid.

Course Process:

  • Begin with independent online learning (EFR eLearning®)

  • Complete online knowledge review

  • Attend the skills development sessions led by the instructor

  • Participate in simulated scenario practices with the instructor

  • Take the final online exam

Price:
MOP $1,300

The course is divided into two main parts:

Primary Emergency Care:

It will teach you the steps and techniques for handling life-threatening emergency injuries and illnesses. You will learn 9 key skills to assist those who have stopped breathing, have no pulse, and may be experiencing severe bleeding, shock, or spinal injuries. You will also learn how to apply the emergency care cycle in the most critical situations, in order to give the injured/ill person the best chance of survival.

Secondary Emergency Care:

Teach you what to do if emergency medical services (also known as EMS) personnel have not yet arrived or are unavailable. In addition, this course will train you in first aid in situations that are not immediately life-threatening. You will learn how to use the life-saving cycle to reduce the risk to the patient's life, while providing care to comfort the patient, relieve pain, and reduce the risk of worsening injuries.

At the beginning of the primary first aid and secondary first aid classes, it is recommended to use EFR eLearning for online independent learning. This way you can learn the basics of why each technique is important and how to do it. Then, practice the techniques with a coach to become proficient in each technique.

After learning all the skills, the coach will arrange simulation scenarios for students to practice. In simulation scenarios, you will practice applying the skills you have learned to scenarios that simulate actual emergencies. The focus of simulated scenario exercises is to learn skills so that they can be applied freely.
