Competition Date: March 15, 2026 (Sunday)

Time: 18:00 - 22:30

Location: Gymnasium of Escola Luso-Chinesa Técnico-Profissional, Macau SAR

Pool Specifications:

  • Indoor standard 25-meter swimming pool

  • Water Temperature: 27-28°C

  • Depth: Shallow area: 1.2 meters; Deep area: 2 meters; (6 lane pool)

Eligibility:

  1. Participants must be 16 years old or above (For participants under 18 years old, parental consent is required).

  2. Must be a member of AIDA Macau Freediving Association.

  3. Must present a valid AIDA Medical Statement (Download here) issued by a doctor within the past 12 months.

  4. Must be an active member of AIDA China or other AIDA National Active Members.

Competition Events: 

  • The competition will consist of four freediving pool disciplines (STA, DNF, DYN, DYNB) conducted in accordance with international AIDA standards, and the results will be recorded on the official AIDA website.

  • Participants may choose ONE of the following events:

    • Static Apnea (STA) / Dynamic Apnea (DYN) / Dynamic Apnea with Bifins (DYNB) / Dynamic Apnea without Fins (DNF)

  • Or Register for TWO disciplines:

    • Static Apnea (STA) + one of the dynamic disciplines (DNF / DYN / DYNB). 
      (**IMPORTANT NOTE: Registering for TWO dynamic disciplines is NOT allowed**)

Competition Quotas:  

  • Static Apnea (STA): Total 18 athletes (Men + Women combined).

  • Dynamic Apnea (DYN) / Dynamic Apnea with Bifins (DYNB) / Dynamic Apnea without Fins (DNF): Total 20 athletes (Men + Women combined).
    (Once the quota is full, registrations will be moved to the waiting list.)

Competition Schedule: 

March 14 (Saturday):

  • 15:00 - 16:00 - Competition briefing session (to be conducted online - Chinese)  

March 15 (Sunday):

  • 18:15 Athlete check-in starts

  • 19:30 – 20:10:  Static Apnea (STA)

  • 20:30 – 21:40:  Dynamic with Fins (DYN) / Dynamic with Bifins (DYNB) / Dynamic No Fins (DNF)

  • 22:00 – 22:15:  Results announcement & protest submission window

  • 22:15 – 22:30:  Award presentation & group photo

Awards:

  • Static Apnea (STA):

    • Men: 1st Place

    • Women: 1st Place

  • Dynamic Apnea without Fins (DNF):
    • Men: 1st Place

    • Women: 1st Place

  • Dynamic Apnea with Fins (DYN / DYNB): 
    • Men: 1st Place

    • Women: 1st Place

Competition Format:  

  1. In accordance with AIDA rules (Version 17.7 — Jan 2025) (English Version - Download here)

  2. Scoring method: 

    • Static Apnea (STA): 0.2 points per second.

    • Dynamic Apnea (DYN-DYNB-DNF): 0.5 points per meter.

    • To calculate rankings for dynamic disciplines with fins (DYN/DYNB), the DYNB score will be weighted by a coefficient of * 1.06(for male), * 1.14(for famale).

  3. The competition results will be ranked based on total points.

Registration Fee:   

  • MOP 280 per discipline

Registration Date:  

  • From now until March 8, 2026 (Sunday) 23:59 (GMT+8)

Registration Method: 

  1. Registration is open via our official website.

  2. Registration is confirmed only after payment is completed. Payment details will be emailed after successful form submission.

  3. After payment, please email the payment record or bank transfer receipt to macaufreediving@gmail.com (please include full name in English). 

  4. Upon successful registration, the association will send an email confirmation to participants.

  5. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. 

  6. Once payment is made, it is non-refundable. 

  7. Requests for changes in AP requirements, competition events, etc., should be communicated to the organizers by email (macaufreediving@gmail.com) no later than March 8, 2026, 23:59 (GMT+8). 

  8. The competition briefing session will be held at 3:00 PM on March 14 (Saturday) and is only open to competitors and staff. Athletes can watch and ask questions via online streaming.

  9. All participants must present the following documents for verification on the day of the competition:
    i/ A signed AIDA Medical Statement (Download here) with a valid doctor's signature (valid within one year), confirming fitness for freediving. 
    ii/ Valid passport or Macao permanent resident ID card as nationality and identity proof.
    iii/ Signed
    AIDA Liability and Assumption of Risk (Download here).

Competition Results:   

  • The competition results will be announced and awards will be presented on the same day after all competitions are completed. The competition records of all participants will be published on the Macau Freediving Association's official website and the AIDA International Ranking official website.
